My 30th in Albufeira: A Holiday in Portugal with a Toddler!

During the third week of October, Suraj, Savya and I travelled to Algarve, Portugal. Suraj insisted we celebrate by 30th birthday in some way. We booked last minute (like, 3 days in advance) through Expedia and flew via RyanAir. We had warm weather and stayed at an all-inclusive resort called Hotel São Rafael Suites.  SavyaContinue reading “My 30th in Albufeira: A Holiday in Portugal with a Toddler!”

Product Review: NUNA’s IVVI Pushchair

My dear expectant and established mothers, fathers, parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and friends… let me tell you a true story.  I once met a lady who told me she had 7 strollers, prams, and pushchairs packed inside a two-story flat with her partner and 5 children. I know it sounds like the beginnings of, “I met an oldContinue reading “Product Review: NUNA’s IVVI Pushchair”

Savya’s “Over the Rainbow” 1st Birthday Party!

Hey All! So Savya turned 1 and we threw him a little party. Well, to be honest, we weren’t going to do anything. From my side of the Nepali culture, we aren’t supposed to celebrate until the child is 2 years old, but Suraj’s side is okay with it. Because my Mom wants to haveContinue reading “Savya’s “Over the Rainbow” 1st Birthday Party!”

Halo Bassinest {Review}

When setting up Savya’s nursery, I came to the realization that he was going to need to be by my side for the first few months. I started looking around but nothing clicked all of my buttons, except for the Halo Bassinest.   The Halo Bassinest was my first choice when it came to a bedsideContinue reading “Halo Bassinest {Review}”

Six weeks update

Hi All!  It’s amazing how my life has gone from gourmet eats and mascara to bottled milk and nappies. Six weeks in, I’ve settled into the Mummy-mode of things! I’m quite excited to have a little guy to play with. Does he account for lack of sleep? Oh, absolutely. However, I have some great correctorContinue reading “Six weeks update”

Sleeping Babies

Have you ever seen a newborn making faces in their sleep? Most of these twitches and movements are involuntary as these little ones are getting used to their bodies. But man, is it fun to watch!  Here’s a little clip of Savya, about 5 days old, crying and laughing in his sleep. Enjoy!

Mom Life!

I’m so sorry I haven’t had a chance to update much lately. What a tumultuous month! I can’t believe I’m a Mom to this little guy who has me and Suraj wrapped around him finger. Although exhausted, we are absolutely loving this new chapter in our lives. I know new parents say this but whoah,Continue reading “Mom Life!”

Nursery, aka “Baby Room” update

So as long as I can remember, we have been referring to the nursery as “the baby room.” Yep, even before there was a baby to go in it. This is because the wallpaper in the room had this strangely yellowed Peter-Rabbit-meets-Classic-Winnie-the-Pooh theme. Sound cute? Nope. It was weird. Weird and peeling. Peeling is icky. I reallyContinue reading “Nursery, aka “Baby Room” update”

I first heard about The Baby Show through a colleague of my husband. He and his wife had attended this trade show of baby goodies and stocked up on all their baby essentials at fantastic prices. So many vendors, and three days to attend. Suraj and I decided it would be a good idea to attendContinue reading “REVIEW: THE BABY SHOW”

Baby Hiccups

Today, Suraj and I went for a scan to see how my amniotic fluid levels are doing. Last week they were on the low side, so taking extra precaution, we scheduled a check-up for this morning. Good news! Amniotic fluids are normal. Phew! Whatever the case that it went down, I’m glad it’s back upContinue reading “Baby Hiccups”
