My Personal Skincare Routine {Products}

This week’s beauty post is regarding my personal skincare routine which I want to share with you. I really have noticed a huge difference in my skin quality after using these products, so I have to share my discoveries! 

The following products discussed are actual items I use everyday that work for me. I have not been paid for mentioning any of these products, and every word I write is 100% honest.

First things first: Embrace your skin and take as much time to care for it as you use for applying your makeup. At the end of the day, remove your makeup fully, so that there is no residue left on your skin. Cleanse and tone, then follow up with appropriate skincare products to retain healthy glow and shine.

Skin feeling tired and looking dull? Use a face mask to brighten your skin while you watch a film or catch up on emails. Depending on the quality, you can wear them anywhere from 20-60 minutes, and the extra care will make your skin glow. What does float skin mean? Happier, healthier skin, and less coverup needed. What’s not to love?

If you’re overwhelmed at the idea of a skincare regiment, start with an evening routine. If you’re going to spend time on your face, do it in the evening. It’s easier for repair to happen overnight to give you a fresh start in the morning. 

The following is my routine, in order. There are 10 steps in total! The usual 8 steps take anywhere from 10-20 minutes on a nightly basis. Adding the optional 2 steps can (obviously) lengthen the time you spend on your skincare.


Makeup removal: I usually use makeup wipes or baby wipes. In my eyes, it’s honestly the same thing if you use the right kind. I like using Pampers Sensitive Skin Wipes because they are heavy duty and remove makeup very well without irritating my skin. If it wipes my son’s bottom well, I don’t see why it won’t work for my face! Haha.

For sensitive areas like eyes and lips, I use Estēe Lauder Take It Away Gentle Eye & Lip LongWear Makeup Remover. It’s oil based, which helps break down the makeup without irritating my sensitive, dry skin. I use it with a cotton ball to gently work off my eye makeup and mascara. Last, I go over my skin with Garnier’s Miscellar Cleansing Water. It helps to pull out any extra dirt or impurities from my skin.


FYI – don’t exfoliate in the morning! Only at night. Trust, your makeup with thank you for it. Limit to 2 or 3 times a week maximum. 

Cleanser: If I have worn a lot of makeup that day, or if I still have some residue on my skin, I use Bobbi Brown’s Soothing Oil Cleanser. Although oil seems counterproductive, it’s important to remember that oil cuts through oil. This means that an oil-based cleanser will get rid of oil, makeup, dirt, and other build up on your face without irritating or drying your skin. In the mornings, I like using Biore’s Charcoal Cleanser. It’s very cooling, which wakes me up! It’s also very gentle on my skin and keeps me looking fresh.

Using two different cleansers for morning and at night will make sure your skin stays happy. Don’t use an abrasive or drying cleanser (like one with baking soda) right before you put on your makeup, because it will dry out your skin, making your makeup looked “caked.” 

Toner: I like to use Simple Pore Minimising Toning Cleanser because does the job and it’s very affordable. If you have sensitive or oily skin, toning is a must. It makes sure all dirt and oil is removed fully. For me, it’s like a confirmation that I’ve cleaned my skin well!


FYI- Ideally, you should use a mask to rejuvenate your skin once a week. Try doing this at the end of the week to help yourself relax. If you find that you can’t, try at least once a month. You will find that many products refer as a whitening product. The term “whitening” actually refers to brightening, not skin bleaching. It’s just one of those literal translation things. 

Ampoule: A product that I consider the holy grail is Mizon Snail Repair Intensive Ampoule. Snail secretion is the secret to ultra repairing hydrating skin products! I started using this when I noticed my skin was taking a toll from lack of sleep, hydration, dry winter weather, and hard water. I had dry patches and my makeup looked like crap. I was so frustrated. After I used this for a week, I started noticing a difference. A few months later, I have super soft, supple, BRIGHT SKIN! I can afford to use less coverage and my applications looks so much more better than before.

Eye Serum: PurOrganica Ultimate Youth Eye Gel Treatment is a product I’ve been using lately to help my undereye bags. Although I’d ideally love a permanent fix for my puffy eyebags and dark circles, this serum (when used religiously) seems to bring down my puffiness and make my dark circles less noticeable. Very affordable and purchased on Amazon.

Serum: The face serum I use is the Mizon All-In-One Snail Cream. This adds extra moisture and keeps my skin dewy and healthy. I’ve noticed how bright it looks as well! I’ve been using this for 6 months and it’s made a huge difference in bringing out my natural beauty.

Eye Cream: My favourite eye cream thus far is Bobbi Brown Extra Hydrating Eye Cream. It’s expensive but well worth it. It soothes and repairs the delicate skin under my eyes. I haven’t found another product that can do what it does, so although it’s a bit pricey, I always buy it! A little goes a long way though – I’ve had this current pot for over a year now, and I’m only 3/4th way done!

Moisturiser: We have come to the end of the routine! The last step should be to seal it in with a good nighttime moisturiser. Night creams are usually a bit thicker and more concentrated to do the work for you while you sleep. It also doesn’t have SPF like most day creams do. I recently switched from using No7 to Olay Regenerist. Within 2 days I saw a huge difference in my skin. The change in the quality of my skin was nothing short of amazing. The thickness is exactly what I needed to combat the harshness of the winter cold and the drying of the indoor heaters.

Buy this on Amazon – I bought my night cream for £12 vs the marked price of £30 at Boots. Absolute value for money! I also use Olay Regenerist Day Cream.

As for my lips, I go old school and put Vaseline on them at night. By the morning, my lips are super soft! If they need exfoliation, the extra moisture makes it easier to do so. For the day time, I would suggest something with SPF.

Now that you know what my evening routine and products are, here is my morning routine in a nutshell:


  1. Wake up; internally groan with exhaustion that it’s already time to wake up and drag self to bathroom 
  2. Commence oral hygiene (and shower if there’s time)
  3. Wash face with Biore Charcoal Cleanser (massage into skin for a few minutes before washing off)
  4. Tone with Simple Toning Cleanser
  5. Apply Mizon All-In-One Snail Cream to face and neck
  6. Apply PurOrganica under eyes with ring finger (weakest finger)
  7. Apply Bobbi Brown Extra Hydrating Eye Cream under eyes with ring finger (weakest finger)
  8. Apply Olay Regenerist Day cream with SPF protection
  9. Brush hair; groan that it looks horrible. Change clothes quickly and wake up little guy

This literally takes me 10 minutes in the morning. Not hard, you just need to know what to use and what order to use it in. I hope this was informative and gave you a few laughs!
