Fresh Faced Friday: Bioré Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser

So what’s my biggest pet peeve? Blackheads and large pores. I’ve been trying everything I can to minimize my pores and make my skin as clean as possible. The older we get, the harder it gets to achieve this, so regular maintenance is everything. A cleanser is used to remove make-up, dirt, and impurities from your face in order to clean and prevent breakouts.

My new favourite is Bioré’s Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser! What’s the deal with charcoal? It’s a natural way to pull out toxins from your body. This is why you see people using it on their teeth, their hair, skin, and even ingesting it (I’ve heard it helps with IBS!) I really love the way it makes my skin feel during and afterward. I can literally feel my pores opening and being cleaned! It’s a glorious feeling.

The way to use is this is to first wet your face. Take a pump of the cleanser and massage it into your skin. Your skin will start to feel cool and fresh, and the black cleanser will foam white as you keep working it into your skin. Wash with warm water to remove all the cleanser from your face. Personally, I like to splash cold water on my face at the end to close my pores.

Follow up with toner to remove any extra dirt or make-up left behind. Continue with your regular skin care regiment (serum, moisturiser, etc)

NOTE: When I got this I looked all over the packaging to see if it was activated charcoal, which it is not. “Activated” means that it has less impurities in there. Much healthier for your skin. However, this product has worked really well for me, so I can’t really complain about it. If you would rather experiment and DIY your own skincare with charcoal, you can buy activated charcoal capsules from Boots or any other chemist (pharmacy).

I hope you found this review helpful. As with any new product, be sure to patch test before using it!

Xoxo.
